Manisha is a solicitor in our Family Law department. She joined Mackrell Turner Garrett in February 2016, having qualified as a lawyer in 2008.
Manisha has particular expertise in children law encompassing the full range of Section 8 Children Act applications and others with international elements, such as permanent removal of children from the jurisdiction, wardship and child abduction.
She also has a wide breadth of experience in divorce, judicial separation and nullity cases, including defended and undefended suits, which is supported by her extensive working knowledge and experience in financial remedy applications.
She has advised a broad range of clients, be it victims of domestic violence; both men and women or conflicting parents struggling to regularise living and time arrangements regarding their children.
In addition, she has worked with a variety of specific issues including:
- applications to take children abroad temporarily to destinations where there are political tensions and dangers,
- advised parents seeking the return of their children to the UK following unlawful removals
- helping to settle marital finances where issues of capacity are involved.
- applications to change a child’s surname,
Prior to qualifying, Manisha completed an LLB Honours Law degree at the University of Westminster. She is fluent in Mauritian Creole and conversational French and Hindi.
She is a Law Society Family Panel member, member of the Law Society Young Lawyers and a member of Resolution and Young Resolution.
